Finish any meal with a batch of freshly made cookies

Aurelie Jouan

Whatever the event this holiday season, cookies are the perfect dessert.

Cookies are synonymous with the holiday season, as pie is with Thanksgiving. Make a few batches of cookies and never show up to an event empty-handed.

Cookies are travel-friendly make-ahead treats for the entire holiday season, which makes them the perfect choice for this week’s SWAT (Sharing with a Theme).

We put the Culinary Content Network to the test to come up with a few of their favorite cookie recipes, and here are some of the highlights:

Elle Kirschenbaum from Only Taste Matters brings us a recipe for delicious gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, made with two different kinds of rice flour instead of all-purpose.

Lori Yates from Foxes Love Lemons brings us no-bake granola thumbprint cookies. These are filled with lemon curd, but you can also fill them with chocolate spread, jam, or even small candies.

This week’s winning recipe comes from Kristie Collado, Cook Editor at The Daily Meal. Sugar-crusted peanut butter cookies are stuffed with a spicy chocolate cookie.

All of the recipes featured can be made at home for about $20 or less, excluding the cost of small amounts of basic ingredients such as butter, oil, flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and other dried herbs and spices.

Fair warning: these cookies are very rich. The pumpkin spice chips are balanced by the chocolate morsels and the cinnamon cream cheese filling gives it that fall flavor you crave this time of year. Click here to see the recipe.
