Bernie Sanders looked like he was in a giant container of ice cream
Vermont senator Bernie Sanders spoke at a Ben & Jerry's factory this week from a lectern that looked like a giant ice cream container.
The Internet was thrilled this weekend by the sight of Vermont senator Bernie Sanders appearing to give a speech from inside a giant container of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, which was a surprising visual that nobody realized they had wanted to see until they saw it.
According to Good Morning America, Bernie Sanders was giving a speech at the Ben & Jerry’s factory in Saint Albans, Vermont, and the podium there is shaped like a giant pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. He was there to speak about workers’ rights and his intent to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour nationwide, but people were pretty entertained by the idea of the 75-year-old senator rising from a big tub of ice cream.
“Worst bachelor party ever,” one person joked. Indeed, if one were expecting a young woman to jump out of a cake, seeing Bernie Sanders come out instead might be a bit of a surprise.
Sanders appears to approve of the ice cream lectern, because he posted a photo of himself in the ice cream to Twitter, writing: “When we stand up and fight back we can change the country in very positive ways.”
